Tom Holland explained why he postponed filming. «Spider-Man: New Day» , to take part in Christopher Nolan's film «"Odyssey"» .
In a recent interview with the magazine GQ Holland spoke about the "uncomfortable conversation" he had with Sony Pictures chief Tom Rothman about the possibility of delaying the film's production. «Spider-Man: New Day» , to star in Nolan's epic film, as both films had the same production start date.
«"So I said to Chris, 'Look, I want to do this movie, but if I'm going to do it, I'm going to have to call Sony and have a very uncomfortable conversation,'" Holland said.
According to Holland, the conversation went well, in part due to Nolan's reputation as a filmmaker. Production «Odyssey »"It started on schedule and even finished nine days early," Holland noted.
«"I think one of the reasons Sony was happy with this move is that Chris has a reputation for always saying, 'This movie isn't going to take five months, and we're not going to lose Tom for two years,'" Holland said. "With any other director, the conversation might have been a little different.".
Both films will premiere this summer. Holland said this period truly "feels like the beginning of a new chapter in my life.".
«"I really feel like a young man now," Holland continued. "I have so many wonderful things happening in my personal life that will help me throughout my life, and I feel like I have a new sense of where I want to be in Hollywood.".
The Odyssey« is released in theaters and on IMAX screens on July 17, and «Spider-Man: New Day» - July 31st.
