Amerie is officially divorced, and details of her income came to light during legal proceedings related to her separation.
Court documents obtained TMZ, indicate that the singer may not be in the best financial situation: her estimated monthly income is $5,735, while her ex-husband, music producer Lenny Nicholson, earns $10,000 per month.
Furthermore, legal documents show that the former spouses do not jointly own any property or have joint bank accounts. Amerie was awarded primary custody of their only son, while Nicholson was ordered to pay $2,298 and was granted limited parental rights.
She will also retain ownership of her music businesses: Amerie Inc., Cer One Touring, and Mi Suk Publishing, as well as her 2016 Range Rover. The judge ordered Nicholson to hand over Amerie television recordings and the external hard drive containing her music files.

News of Amerie's divorce broke last summer, when the 46-year-old woman filed for divorce. She then announced that she and Nicholson separated in April 2024 after marrying in 2011. During this time, they had an eight-year-old son, River Rowe.
Nicholson responded by claiming he had not been properly compensated for the past 20 years, during which he claimed he acted as Amerie's manager, tour producer, performance director, and business strategist. He also claimed he was owed royalties from her music, merchandise, and book publishing.
He accused Ameri of abandoning their home in 2024 while he was recovering from surgery, adding that he was left to pay the $44,000 rent and other expenses himself.
He claimed his ex-wife spent $20,000 on plastic surgery and traveled to Mexico and Jamaica. He also claimed Amerie returned to her music career after their split and used his 18-week marketing plan without crediting him.
In her lawsuit, Nicholson sought $1.75 million in unpaid commissions, $150,000 in damages for verbal harassment and emotional distress, alimony, and more.
