Drake is taking the promotion of his album Iceman to the next level.
The Grammy Award-winning rapper released his album Iceman last month, and he's been keeping fans updated on his return. On Monday, June 1, the rapper received an ice sculpture of Kimi Raikkonen's 2006 McLaren MP4-21 Formula 1 car, continuing the promotion of his ninth studio album. Like most of Drake's statements, the sculpture has a double meaning. This particular Formula 1 car, while made of real ice, also bears the same name as its release—"The Iceman." This isn't the first time the 2006 McLaren MP4-21 Formula 1 car has received ice treatment; a sculpture was previously created for Raikkonen during the 2006 Monaco Grand Prix.
The ice sculpture capped Drake's latest musical triumph, following the release of not only Iceman but also his two other albums, Maid of Honor and Habibiti, which dropped on May 15, the same day as Iceman. The Toronto rapper achieved several notable feats with the release, including becoming the first artist in Billboard history to simultaneously occupy the top three spots on the Billboard 200 and surpassing Michael Jackson for the most number-one songs by a male solo artist. Furthermore, his No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 earned him his 15th spot on the chart, surpassing hip-hop icon Jay-Z.
This isn't the only icy project Drake has created while promoting his album. The rapper launched an interactive and viral campaign to help fans guess the release date of "Iceman" in Toronto.
Drake also froze courtside seats during a Toronto Raptors game before being released under the nickname "Iceman.".
