The newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Gillotte, announced the news in a joint Instagram post, revealing that they had quietly made their relationship official and that they still had a larger celebration planned for May next year.
«"Surprise! We're married!" the couple wrote, accompanied by photos taken by Kentucky photographer Liv Kok. "Our sweet ceremony and celebration were attended by our beloved families. Our new favorite day! We can't wait to celebrate with even more of our loved ones next May! Mr. and Mrs. Gillotte. May 23, 2026.".
For the intimate outdoor ceremony, Kress chose a classic white dress paired with a lace veil, while Gillotte swapped his soccer jersey for a beige suit, his signature long hair pulled back into a ponytail. The couple exchanged vows under a flower-draped arch overlooking the golf course.
Just a few months after getting engaged in February, the former University of Louisville stars officially tied the knot on May 23.
Gillott, a key member of Louisville's defense from 2021 to 2024 before joining the Chiefs, is preparing for his second NFL season in Kansas City. Meanwhile, Kress, one of the most decorated blockers in Cardinals volleyball history, is continuing her professional career with the Indy Ignite after signing a contract extension this week.
The announcement quickly drew reactions from both sides of the couple's sports world. The Chiefs' official account responded, "Congratulations!! ❤️," while Indy Ignite added, "Amazing!! Congrats!!!!! 🔥.".
The wedding news comes after a tumultuous few months for the couple. They celebrated their wedding anniversary on February 11th, got engaged shortly afterward, and are now officially lifelong teammates. As for Kress, even her professional team joined in the fun, announcing her return to Indianapolis with the caption, "We said yes too," adding a ring emoji.
Although the marriage papers have already been signed, the celebrations are not over yet. The newlyweds have confirmed that they will hold a larger celebration next May with family and friends.
