In an interview with SportsCenter, Reese told Kristin Williamson that even though she reached the 1,000 rebound mark during the game against the Fever, she didn't have time to celebrate until after the game.
For those who may have missed the match, Reese and the rest of the Atlanta Dream crushed Clarke and the Fever, earning two wins in two days. The second meeting on June 20 ended 113-96, setting a franchise record for the Georgia WNBA team.
Angel Reese spoke candidly about what it was like to play in front of so many celebrities at State Farm Arena.
On June 20, Reese broke the WNBA record in front of a sold-out State Farm Arena. Among the attendees were WNBA legend Don Staley, rapper Latto, Dominique Wilkins, Clarissa Shields, and many others. The atmosphere was electric, and the crowd cheered for the Dream throughout the game, especially in the second half, when Reese scored twice to give the Atlanta Dream the lead.
Reese described the moment as "really cool." She added that she and her teammates were "so excited" to have such a large crowd and that playing in front of so many famous people was "so much fun.".

In April 2026, Reese was traded to the Atlanta Dream after a rocky end to her second season with the Chicago Sky. Speaking with Williamson on SportsCenter, Reese shared her thoughts on the team's chemistry, stating that she felt they hadn't yet reached their maximum potential.
«"We're looking absolutely fantastic in June," she said. "I'm just curious to see how we'll look in the coming months... We've done a tremendous job. All five starters are averaging double-digit points, and our bench is fantastic, too. Karl Smesko is a fantastic coach. The fans here are fantastic. I don't know how much better things will be in the future, but I'm looking forward to seeing what they look like.".
Reese says playing for the Atlanta Dream is like a "sisterhood.".
Currently, the Dream is the third-best team in the league with an 11-4 record. Besides their dedication on the court, Reese noted that one of the driving forces behind their success is their team chemistry.
«"There's a camaraderie in the locker room," she said. "Every day, everyone strives to get better. We compete. Even when we win, we always analyze the little things we could have done better and how we can improve our game in the next match.".
Reese continued, "It's been amazing. We have so much fun [together]. There's so much energy, it's contagious. I really love being here in Atlanta with the girls.".
Reese plays in brand new Reebok sneakers.
Reese broke the WNBA record in her signature "Angel Reese 1" sneakers. She wore the "Poison Angel" colorway—a bright green sneaker with a shiny finish—in her final two games.
