After two studio albums, a Latin Grammy nomination, and significant success in the Latin music industry, Periko & Jessi León—comprised of real-life couple Pedro Almeida and Jessica Bebczyk—has rebranded and is now called PJ Kids, along with their 5-year-old son, Milo.
Now a three-piece family band (Perico on guitar, Leon on vocals, and Milo on drums), PJ Kids has released their second album. Somos Un Equipo , which marks the first project where Milo plays drums on all seven tracks. This bilingual children's album includes songs about the importance of good manners, overcoming fears, self-belief, coexistence, big dreams, and even a nearly five-minute meditation for children.

Perico and Jesse first noticed Milo's musical talent, born in 2020, at just 11 months old, when he would go with his dad to the recording studio and admire the instruments. However, it wasn't until he was three that he naturally began jamming with his parents at home. Today, he takes professional lessons once a week to hone his skills.
At just five years old, Milo and his parents were already performing in front of live audiences at numerous prestigious Miami venues, including The Fillmore and the James L. Knight Center. Furthermore, since its launch in the spring of 2025, the PJ Kids YouTube channel has amassed nearly 40,000 subscribers and collaborated with renowned figures in Latin American children's entertainment, including Chicky Toons and Aprende Peque.
«"He says his life is full of joy," Perico notes. "He loves performing. He thinks all his friends are musicians, but he was born with talent. We always tell him he's very good, that he's strong, and that he can achieve anything he sets his mind to.".
For the talented parents, nominated for Best New Artist at the 2014 Latin Grammy Awards, balance is an important factor in this project.
«"We don't want to exploit our son," Leon shares. "We arrange playdates, he plays soccer, and he's very sociable. We accommodate his schedule and whims because, after all, he's only five years old.".
Guided by the principles of organic, natural, and family-first approach, PJ Kids grew from a simple project born out of love for its craft.
«"I saw the big picture from the moment we started performing live," Leon adds. "There's such a wonderful, huge market in children's entertainment, yet many in the industry don't even pay attention to it. I feel like we've accomplished more in the last year alone than in our entire 20-year career. Doors have opened so easily; opportunities keep coming, and I just can't believe how wonderful it all is. When a project is executed with a crystal-clear vision, everything just falls into place.".
