Bringing gas to the site: features and changes

Bringing gas to your property is an important step in creating comfortable living conditions in a private home or summer cottage. Gas heating provides reliable heat and hot water, making country living more comfortable.

What does free gasification include?

Under a state program in effect in Russia since 2021, private homeowners have the opportunity to connect to the gas grid without significant financial outlay. Since 2024, this program has also been extended to gardening non-profit partnerships (SNTs) located in gasified communities. Free gasification of a home involves connecting pipes to the property line at no cost to the owner. Work on the property line and in the home is paid for by the owner.

If all conditions are met, the gasification process can be launched by submitting an application to the gas distribution organization (GDO).

Changes in legislation

In recent years, several changes have been made to the gasification system. These are aimed at simplifying and speeding up the gas connection process for private households. Among these changes, the following are noteworthy:

  • Simplifying the application process. Now, property owners can submit documents for gas connection not only at the gas supply company's office, but also through the Gosuslugi portal, the Multifunctional Center (MFC), or the Unified Gasification Operator portal, reducing the time required for paperwork.
  • Reducing design and approval timeframes. Previously, the project approval process could take several months. New regulations require gas suppliers to review applications and approve projects more quickly.
  • Subsidies for interior works. Although free connection only covers gas up to the property line, subsidies are available in the regions for internal pipe laying and gas installation.

Furthermore, the introduction of digital technologies has made it possible to track all stages of gasification online. This eliminates bureaucratic red tape and increases the transparency of the process.

How is the gasification of a site carried out?

Gas installation includes several mandatory stages:

  1. Obtaining technical specifications. You must contact the State Registration Office and submit an application for technical specifications. This document defines the basic parameters of the future connection.
  2. Design. A gas distribution plan is carried out by a gas distribution organization (GRO) or another certified organization, which creates a plan for laying gas pipes and installing equipment in the building. While a gasification plan is not legally required, it can speed up and simplify the work.
  3. Coordination and installation works. Installation of the gas pipeline section and laying of utilities on the site and inside the house begins.
  4. Commissioning works. Gas service employees test the system, checking for leaks and safety. A commissioning report is then issued.
  1. Sign contracts. It is necessary to conclude contracts for technological connection, gas supply and equipment maintenance.

Bringing gas to a home requires compliance with regulations and numerous documents. Thanks to a government program and legislative changes, this process has become simpler and more accessible. It's important to submit an application in a timely manner, gather all the necessary paperwork, and follow established regulations to ensure successful and safe gasification.
