April 2024: Peter Phillips and Lindsay Wallace split up.
Following his split from Autumn Kelly, Peter was linked to Lindsay Wallace, whom he reportedly introduced to Queen Elizabeth on Christmas Day 2021. Lindsay, a school friend of Peter's sister, Zara, and Peter dated for around three years; Peter even brought Lindsay to the joint christening of his nephew, Lucas Tindall, and Princess Eugenie's son, Augustus Brooksbank, as well as events during Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee in June 2022. Zara reportedly introduced them initially, and according to Daily Mail , Peter and Lindsay "became closer after spending time together following the breakup of their marriages.".
In April 2024, reports emerged that Peter and Lindsay had split after three years of dating. "They were friends before their relationship blossomed. But Peter and Lindsay split because their relationship simply ran its course," a source told The Sun. The breakup news likely paved the way for the public introduction of Peter's new girlfriend, Harriet Spurling, just weeks later.

Although it's unclear how Peter Phillips and Harriet Spurling first met—it's reported that their paths first crossed at a "sporting event," but when or where isn't specified—by May 2024, they were confident enough in their relationship to announce it publicly. They went to support Zara at an equestrian competition in Badminton; Peter's daughters and Queen Camilla were also there.

Shortly after Ascot, Harriet and Peter went to Wimbledon, where they sat in the front row of the royal box. Just two days later, they also attended the Royal Polo Cup.

September 2024: The couple attended a party to launch a book by Queen Camilla's son.

Further cementing Harriet's status in royal circles, she and Peter were among the guests at the launch of Queen Camilla's son, Tom Parker Bowles's royal cookbook., entitled "Cooking and the Crown: Royal Recipes from Queen Victoria to King Charles III"« . During her second appearance at Royal Ascot, Harriet rode in the carriage that accompanied her in the procession. At the event, she was seen chatting with Princess Anne, Zara Tindall, and other members of the royal family. August 2025: Harriet and Peter announce their engagement.
On August 1, the couple shared the joyful news. "Mr. Peter Phillips, son of Her Royal Highness Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, and Ms. Harriet Spurling, daughter of the late Mr. Rupert Sanders and Ms. Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire, today confirmed their official engagement," a spokesperson for the couple said. "Both families were jointly informed of this announcement and were delighted with the wonderful news of the engagement. Although Peter and Harriet did not join the royal family for Christmas at Sandringham, just three days later they were photographed arriving for Sunday service alongside King Charles, Princess Anne, Princess Margaret's son David Armstrong-Jones and other members of the extended royal family.
March 2026: Harriet and Peter take a walk together with Zara and Mike Tindall.
