Today is a wonderful day on YouTube – June 4, 2026 marks the official global launch of the channel. «Mister Rogers' Neighborhood» .
Longtime fans and new viewers alike will be able to watch full episodes, live streams, excerpts, and compilations from the cult educational series, which aired from 1968 to 2001. Original content, including behind-the-scenes footage, will also be added to the YouTube channel in the future.
«For the first time the program «Mister Rogers' Neighborhood» "And all of her timeless messages of kindness and wonder will be available to families around the world. And she'll be easier to find and share than ever," says Christine DiQuollo, Creative Director of the YouTube channel. «Mister Rogers' Neighborhood» , in an interview Parents . DiQuollo explains that when Fred Rogers launched the show, his goal was to help children navigate life's ups and downs through television. "Now we're bringing «Mister Rogers» »We bring it to the screens of millions of viewers and offer families a new way to slow down, laugh, and watch together,” she says.
What families can expect
Five full episodes debuted on the YouTube channel, including the very first one that aired. A new episode will be released each week, keeping a total of 10 full episodes available at all times.
«"We carefully curate the channel's content so that families and fans can find something they find interesting and valuable," says DiQuollo. "For example, we'll have playlists organized by theme, like managing strong emotions or featuring guest musicians. We take a similar approach to creating compilations, curating them into collections of iconic moments, messages about growing up and learning, songs, or clips from 'Imaginationland.'".
Of course, children will be able to hear classic songs from the series, which will help them cope with emotional difficulties and important stages in life, as well as help them in their studies.
DiQuollo hopes families will feel like they're visiting a "trusted friend." She adds, "We also want this to be a place where every viewer can remember how special they are simply for who they are.".

Why is Mister Rogers and His Neighbors on YouTube so important?
It cannot be denied that «Mister Rogers' Neighborhood» was far ahead of its time. Fred Rogers, the creator and host of all 895 episodes, was a pioneer in his focus on children's emotional and mental well-being.
This attention is more important than ever, as children in the United States are experiencing what is being described as a mental health crisis. A 2024 report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found that nearly 40% of high school students experienced persistent feelings of sadness and hopelessness, 28.5% had mental health issues, 20.4% had seriously considered suicide, and 9.5% had already attempted suicide.
«Fred often said, „Even though kids“ appearances have changed, their inner worlds have remained the same,»« says Hedda Sharapan, who worked with Rogers on the show from the very beginning and has been with the company for more than five decades. “The basic needs of today’s kids remain the same—and I hope they continue to learn from Mister Rogers what others had learned from him many years ago: to feel good about who they are, to cope with their feelings in healthy ways, to be surprised and curious, to look and listen carefully, to role-play, to be kind and to appreciate their neighbors for who they are.».
According to Sharapan, while filming the show, they received letters from viewers demonstrating how much it helps children. One letter came from a 12-year-old boy who said, "You're helping me understand life.".
«Even 25 years after production ended, we continue to receive feedback from people about the positive impact it had on them and their childhood. Mister Rogers »"," adds Sharapan. "There's nothing better than knowing that we've contributed to making this show accessible to children and adults alike, and that people want it to remain accessible in the future!"«

In addition to the YouTube channel, families can watch «Mister Rogers' Neighborhood» on PBS, and individual episodes are available on the PBS Kids Video app. The series is also available on Prime Video via PBS Kids and on «Mister Rogers' Neighborhood» on Pluto TV. Free episodes are also streaming on PBS Retro, available on Plex, Roku, Vizio, TCL, and LG.
