An independent film company has acquired the rights to the psychosexual thriller "Night Nurse," starring Mimi Rogers and Bruce McKenzie (EXCLUSIVE)

Independent Film Company (formerly known as IFC Films) has acquired U.S. and Canadian distribution rights to Georgia Bernstein's debut feature, "The Night Nurse," which premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival.

This psychosexual thriller, exploring the dark side of nursing, is scheduled to premiere on July 10th. The film also stars Bruce Mackenzie (Breaking Bad), Mimi Rogers (Gingerbread), and Cemre Paksoy (The Affair). The story follows a nursing home where life is disrupted by a series of scam calls, while a nurse (Paksoy) becomes embroiled in a relationship with her mysterious patient (Mackenzie). Bernstein directed and wrote the screenplay.

Variety . «It’s rare to see such bold and innovative cinema, and we’re thrilled to bring it to audiences this summer.».

Producers include Bernstein, Edwin Linker, Lian Kunje, Veronica Barbosa, and Lucy Rogers. Labes handled negotiations on behalf of Independent Film Company, while Jessica Lacy and Julien Levesque of Gersh handled negotiations on behalf of the filmmakers. Bernstein is represented by Gersh and Entertainment 360.

Independent Film Company's previous releases include The Babadook, Late Night with the Devil, Memoirs of a Snail, and Boyhood.
