Faris, 49, spoke about her participation in the beloved sitcom in a video published Variety June 5. The TV series "Friends" ran from 1994 to 2004, but Faris' character, Erica, only appeared in the show's final episodes, at the end of season 10.
She first appeared as Erica, a pregnant woman who ultimately decides to let Chandler (the late Matthew Perry) and Monica (Courteney Cox) adopt her baby, in the ninth episode of season 10, "The One with the Birth Mother." She appeared in just four episodes, including the first part of the two-part finale, where she gives birth to not one child but twins. Chandler and Monica adopt both and name them Jack and Erica.
But despite being on the show, Faris wasn't sure she deserved to be part of the buzz that surrounded the show's final season.

«"I remember this touching group hug," she said, referring to the scene where she gave birth. "We were finishing rehearsal, standing on the floor, and I was the only one standing about two feet away from the group hug.".
According to the actress, the actors didn't try to cut Faris out of the project. "They were like, 'Come on, come on,' which also felt inappropriate," she explained. She felt overwhelmed and told the actors, "Guys, this is wrong.".
Looking back, she realizes it was a "very special" event, and she loved "filming in front of a live audience." She said, "The people in the audience truly understood what it meant to witness the conclusion of this incredible show.".
The cast of Friends also included Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe Buffay, Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Green, David Schwimmer as Ross Geller, and Matt LeBlanc as Joey Tribbiani. Paul Rudd joined the cast as Mike Hannigan, Phoebe's love interest, in season nine; they married in season ten.
In 2024, Faris spoke to PEOPLE magazine about her memories of working with Perry on that final season. "It was an honor, and he was just an incredible person," she said of Perry, who died at age 54 in October 2023.
