Faris said that while it initially felt "wrong" to join in on the hugs with her beloved cast members in the final episodes of the wildly successful TV series, she also understood how "special" it was to be involved.

In a 2024 interview with PEOPLE magazine, Faris revealed that Perry suggested her for the role after seeing her in in the film "Lost in Translation"« .

«That’s how I understood it then. He said he saw me in in the film "Lost in Translation"« and he loved it," Faris said. "I worked mostly with Courtney and Matthew, and they were incredibly kind to me. They were so wonderful. It was such a daunting idea. Imagine having a baby in «Friends»«"Friends"» ? In the last season?»

Perry died in October 2023 at the age of 54.

Faris said it was an "honor" to work with Perry, whom she described as "an incredible person," adding that the rest of the cast - including Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc - were "so kind.".
