In an interview Variety star film "Scary Movie 6"« recalled her role on the cult sitcom, where she starred in four episodes of the final season in 2004. Faris played Erica, a pregnant woman who gives birth to twins, whom Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Monica (Courteney Cox) adopt after Monica is unable to conceive naturally.
Faris recalled feeling awkward when she was asked to join the cast's "sentimental group hug.".
«"We were finishing rehearsal and standing on the floor, and I was the only one about two feet away from their group hug," Faris told the publication. "They were saying, 'Come on, come on,' which also seemed inappropriate.".

Faris said that while it initially felt "wrong" to join in on the hugs with her beloved cast members in the final episodes of the wildly successful TV series, she also understood how "special" it was to be involved.

In a 2024 interview with PEOPLE magazine, Faris revealed that Perry suggested her for the role after seeing her in in the film "Lost in Translation"« .
«That’s how I understood it then. He said he saw me in in the film "Lost in Translation"« and he loved it," Faris said. "I worked mostly with Courtney and Matthew, and they were incredibly kind to me. They were so wonderful. It was such a daunting idea. Imagine having a baby in «Friends» … «"Friends"» ? In the last season?»
Perry died in October 2023 at the age of 54.
Faris said it was an "honor" to work with Perry, whom she described as "an incredible person," adding that the rest of the cast - including Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc - were "so kind.".
