In an interview with the publication Entertainment Tonight at the premiere film "Scary Movie" »On June 3, the actress said that interest in a sequel to the comedy, produced by Adam Sandler, still remains.
«"I'd love to talk to you about"» Rabbit's House «"," Faris joked. "And it turns out there's interest. I never thought this dream would ever come true either, and it's too early to say anything, but it seems this film is beloved, as is this character.".
The 49-year-old actress played Shelly, a former Playboy model who takes a job at a college sorority, in the hit 2008 comedy, which also starred Emma Stone, Colin Hanks, Kat Dennings and Rumer Willis.

Faris has been open about her love for the comedy and the amount of work it took to create it.
In an interview with Josh Horowitz, the host of the podcast Happy Sad Confused, June 4, star film "Scary Movie"« She said she pitched the film's concept about twenty times before Sandler decided to produce.
«"We pitched this film 24 times all over Los Angeles, and on the 24th, it was Adam Sandler's company, Happy Madison," she recalled. "And he just said, 'Okay.' We didn't even get to pitch him.".
Faris continued about Sandler: «He saw me in the waiting room and said, „What are you doing here?“ I said, „I’m here to pitch you a movie.“ He said, „What’s it about?“ I said, „About a Playboy girl who gets kicked out of a mansion.“ And he said, „Okay, fine. It’s pretty funny.“».
«We walked away. And then we sold it,» Faris added. «It was our last [opportunity]. There were no others. It was amazing. And then, six to eight weeks later, I was on set in Los Angeles with a crew of about 200 people.».

In 2024, Faris told PEOPLE magazine about her love for the title character—and her hilarious idea for a sequel.
«"I always dream," the star said, adding of her vision for the sequel: "For a while I was like, 'Shelly should be a bad country singer,' and then I decided, 'No, she should be a CIA investigator.'".
«"Her skill is to disarm people because she's perceived, and it's true, as very open and non-judgmental. So I imagined Shelley saying," Faris continued, playfully adding in her character's voice, "'What do I do? I'm a CIA investigator.' Let's write a script. I'd love that.".

Faris added that she really enjoyed playing Shelly in the 2008 film because she was "a character who wasn't competitive with other people and was really wonderful.".
«"It made me want to receive compliments throughout my life," she told PEOPLE. "I felt like it was a way to combat jealousy.".
