BTS has teamed up with OREO for a new limited edition collection.

BTS is bringing a touch of Korea to the world of cookies with a new limited-edition OREO collection that transforms one of the band's favorite childhood treats into a global product.

On Tuesday (May 26), the iconic sandwich cookie and global superstars announced a collaboration on a limited-edition cookie inspired by hotteok, a popular Korean pancake filled with brown sugar.

The group's first global collaboration with the snack brand will launch in over 80 countries on June 8. The limited-edition offering will feature a brown sugar pancake-flavored cream paired with OREO's first-ever purple wafers, a nod to BTS fans.

The group said the collaboration arose from both nostalgia and a desire to share Korean cuisine with fans around the world.

«"We're incredibly honored to partner with OREO as the first snack brand to reach a global audience. We ate them growing up, we eat them in the studio, and now OREO is helping us share the taste of home with the world," BTS said in a press release. "We're incredibly proud to be writing our own chapter in OREO's amazing story.".

The cookies will feature 13 different embossed images created by BTS in honor of the group's 13th anniversary. These include the members' names, a BTS glow stick, and a hidden message embedded on three cookies that fans can collect and decipher.

Several participants spoke about the collaboration and the process of developing flavor solutions.

SUGA said, "We've been communicating and working with OREO for a long time, so I think the response will be very good.".

J-Hope added, "OREO is such a famous, sweet, and delicious cookie, you know. So, honestly, I feel incredibly, incredibly honored. OREO is opening the doors for BTS with us.".

RM recalled the group's long-standing connection with the treat, saying, "We ate quite a lot [of OREOs] during that music camp. When we were working in the studio, we always had OREOs next to us.".

Jin explained how the group helped shape the flavor, saying, "In Korea, there's a national snack called hotteok, and we took inspiration from it and explained to OREO what the flavor was like. We wanted to share with everyone the dessert flavors that Koreans love. It really does taste very similar to hotteok.".

Reminiscing about reuniting with fans after a long hiatus, V said, "I've been missing this moment with fans for so long and looking forward to it. So when I finally got to see it, I was overwhelmed with emotion.".

Jimin added, "I think what we're all looking forward to the most is being able to be together with our fans like this, all of us.".

As part of the campaign, fans will also be invited to send digital "love letters" to BTS using QR codes on the packaging and on the collaboration website.

Pre-orders for the limited-edition OREO & BTS cookies begin Monday, June 1st, at Oreo.com/UnwrapTheCollab, and will arrive in retail stores on June 8th for a limited time, while supplies last.
