Supergirl premieres on June 26, but fans are already seeing Millie Alcock's face everywhere, as the upcoming film's marketing campaign has united DC Studios and some of the world's largest companies. Supergirl will be the second major theatrical release in James Gunn's new DC Universe and will continue the story begun in 2025's Superman. Alcock will play the title character, and David Corenswet will also return as the Man of Steel.
DC is one of the largest companies in the entertainment industry, so the fact that its new interconnected on-screen universe is still struggling to find its feet means it needs help from the world's most popular brands. Superman had a massive marketing campaign in 2025 ahead of its release, and Supergirl is no exception. The film's budget, exceeding $200 million, means it will need to gross a significant amount at the global box office, but perhaps a collaboration between DC Studios and these brands will give it a boost.
By comparison, fans have seen Supergirl advertising campaigns from over a dozen major companies across virtually every industry, from cosmetics to fast food chains and even dog treats. DC is likely analyzing its box office projections for Supergirl and seeing the film in need of additional support. Additional marketing is always a good thing, as it draws more attention to the product, but it also comes with a hefty price tag. However, one thing is certain: DC is doing everything it can to ensure Supergirl's success.
