The conflict between Diddy and Richard began in September 2024, when she filed a civil lawsuit accusing him of retaliation and stalking. Nearly two years later, a federal judge dismissed all but one of Richard's charges against the rapper.
According to court documents, the judge dismissed most of Richard's charges because the statute of limitations had expired. Therefore, she could not refile any of the charges against Diddy, except for one.
The only exception, according to TMZ, is for copyright infringement and can be refiled in New York State court. This announcement represents a major victory for Diddy, whose life in recent years has been marred by numerous lawsuits, some of which led to his fall from fame and, ultimately, to prison.
Details of the civil lawsuit against the rapper
As previously mentioned, the drama between Diddy and Richard began in September 2024, when she filed a civil lawsuit against him in federal court. Richard accused the music mogul of making things difficult for her by advising his then-girlfriend, Cassie, to break up with him.
Richard claimed she did it because she witnessed the rapper bullying Cassie, but he allegedly retaliated. She recalled how she spent sleepless days due to Diddy's demands, noting that she lost significant weight and even developed a rash.
The singer also accused Diddy of inappropriately touching her in a recording studio. Following these allegations, Diddy's lawyer, Erica Wolf, criticized Richard for attempting to blackmail the rapper with false statements. Wolf argued that the timing of the lawsuit did not coincide with Richard's promotion of his new album.

A few weeks before Diddy's major court victory, The Blast reported that the list of his accusers had grown. Earlier this month, a man named Jonathan Hay caused a stir by accusing Diddy of sexual assault in two separate cases.
Hay, a publicist, recalled meeting Diddy while working on a project with Biggie's son, CJ Wallace. The first alleged incident occurred in 2020, when Hay was alone with Diddy. He accused the rapper of using one of Biggie's shirts for masturbation and then asked Hay to finish the job.
Eventually, Diddy finished and threw the ruined shirt at Hay, saying, "RIP, Big." The second alleged incident occurred in 2021, when, according to Hay, Diddy raped his accuser. The latter claimed he was forced to perform oral sex, which left him feeling suicidal.
The prosecutor's office is involved in the new case.
Hay's allegations sparked widespread controversy earlier this month due to the actions of the Los Angeles District Attorney. A spokesperson for the DA's office confirmed that Hay's case is under review to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to charge Diddy with sexual assault.
Sources explained that Hay's case was referred to prosecutors after the Los Angeles police investigated his allegations for several months. They noted that Hay initially reported sexual assault by Diddy in his hometown of Largo, Florida.
However, Florida police transferred the case to the Los Angeles Police Department, as Diddy's alleged crimes occurred in Los Angeles. Hay claimed he had considered telling his story in 2023 but decided against it due to Diddy's immense influence. Everything changed when Cassie filed a sexual assault report, prompting more people to come forward with similar cases.

In June, allegations against Diddy regarding his same-sex relationships continued: The Blast reported on a new sexual assault lawsuit. The man making the accusation, under the name "John Doe," accused Diddy of molesting a minor.
The man claimed that Diddy assaulted him in 2007, when he was still a child actor. He said he was attending a networking event in the Hollywood Hills when the incarcerated rapper invited him for a private meeting, offering career opportunities.
The complainant alleged that Diddy engaged in inappropriate behavior that ultimately led to unwanted sexual contact. The man emphasized that he had not expressed any dissatisfaction, but Diddy's representative denied the allegations, calling them another attempt to make money.
