For months now, "Dracula"—originally a single by the alternative band Tame Impala but a worldwide sensation after Kevin Parker, the band's sole member, invited Blackpink singer Jennie to remix the track—has been among the biggest hits in America. It's also a historic victory for Jennie as a K-pop artist, and she's overcome numerous obstacles in the past few weeks.
"Dracula" continues to hold the top spot in a number of rankings, particularly in rock and alternative music categories. This week, the song will debut on one of these lists, marking the South Korean singer's first solo performance.

This time, "Dracula" increases that number by entering the Dance/Mixed Show Airplay chart for the first time. Combining elements of various genres, the song debuts at No. 38, narrowly missing the Top 40 on another American radio format.
Jenny and Tame Impala have achieved their first hits.
Both Jenny and Tame Impala entered the Dance/Mixed Show Airplay chart for the first time in their careers. It's one of five debuts during this period, with "Dracula" being one of those to reach lower positions.
Calvin Harris and Jazzy launch "Satisfy" at No. 15, securing their highest debut yet. Prospa and Clooney launch "Free Your Mind" at No. 31. Pop-rock artist Olivia Rodrigo's single "Drop Dead" lands one spot above "Dracula." Kungs and Boys Noize round out the chart at No. 40 with "Get Away.".

Jennie became only the fourth K-pop solo artist to chart on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart. The first to break this stereotype was her Blackpink friend Rosé, whose song "Apt.", a globally successful collaboration with Bruno Mars, peaked at number 13. Just a few months after the debut of "Apt.", Lisa, another of the four members of the same South Korean girl group, topped the chart with "Born Again," a collaboration with Doja Cat and Rae.
Last year the song "Golden" from K-pop album Demon Hunters broke into the top 10, giving all four artists—Huntr/x, Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami—their first entry into the competitive chart. Of the group, only Ejae can rightfully be considered a solo K-pop artist.
Jungkook claims to have several solo hits.
Several K-pop groups, including BTS, Fifty Fifty, and Blackpink, have charted on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart. The latter group, three of whose four members have already charted, released their hit "Jump" last fall, which reached No. 31. Jisoo has yet to chart, making her the only Blackpink member to do so.

Only one K-pop solo artist has charted on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, and he has had several hits. Jung Kook, one of BTS's seven vocalists, achieved this feat thanks to two collaborations. He performed "Seven" with Latto, which peaked at number 20. A year earlier, he collaborated with pop singer-songwriter Charlie Puth on "Left and Right," which peaked at number 32.
