The upcoming wedding of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift has captured the attention of virtually everyone in the Kansas City Chiefs organization. Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes are expected to attend. Chiefs general manager Brett Veach hasn't confirmed his attendance. Now, head coach Andy Reid has weighed in, and his response is exactly what anyone who knows him would expect.

Kelsey, 36, and Swift, 36, announced their engagement in August 2025 in a joint Instagram post. According to Page Six, the couple had originally planned a ceremony in Rhode Island in June but later postponed it. The wedding has now been confirmed for July 3 in New York City. Reminder invitations have already been sent out to guests. Celebrities including Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid are expected to attend.
Reid answered this question on June 4 during a podcast interview. 3 & OUT with John Middlekauff. Host John Middlekauff asked him point-blank if the wedding invitation had arrived yet. Reid's answer was short and deliberate. "I can't talk about that," Reid said. The host laughed and compared this secrecy to a non-disclosure agreement, telling Reid that gossip ruins everything. "Right," Reid replied.
Reid previously spoke highly of Swift's influence on Kelsey, calling her a "good girl" and saying she was "probably the most famous woman in the world." Swift, in turn, praised Reid on Kelsey's podcast, "New Heights." "Now I know he's the most iconic, legendary coach of all time," she said. The connection between them runs even deeper. Swift revealed that her father, Scott, and Reid are longtime friends, a detail that adds a personal touch to Reid's expected presence at the July ceremony.
Andy Reid and Travis Kelce share a bond that goes far beyond football.
Reid has been coaching Kelce since drafting him out of the University of Cincinnati in 2013, the same year Reid transferred to Kansas City from Philadelphia. In their 13 seasons together, they won three Super Bowls. Reid spoke about watching Kelce grow as a player and a person during that time.
When Kelce's contract remained uncertain until 2026, Reid told reporters he maintained open communication with the tight end throughout the process. Ultimately, Kelce signed a contract extension for his 14th season in Kansas City.
A few months before their official engagement, Reid even hinted at what Kelsey's wedding speech might sound like. "There are a few things I can't describe," he joked on 96.5 The Fan radio in August 2025. "He's done so much good off the field that people don't know, just helping people. He has a big heart." According to The Mirror, Reid would likely have attended the July 3 event regardless of his connection to Kelsey, given that his relationship with Swift's family predates their romance.
The Kansas City Chiefs' 2026 season begins on September 14 against the Denver Broncos. During that time, Reid will attend one of the most talked-about weddings in recent memory. Whether a tuxedo will fit him remains to be seen.
