James Handy, a veteran actor with more than 140 film and television credits, died brutally on Wednesday. The 81-year-old man was fatally stabbed by his girlfriend's son in a home in Tarzana, California, police said in a statement Thursday.
Police found Handy unconscious in the yard of a home with a stab wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead after paramedics transported him to a local hospital, police said.
Handy was found after a chilling 911 call around 9:30 a.m. The caller allegedly told police, "I'm the son of man. I just killed the man of sin." When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect, 44-year-old Michael Gledhill, allegedly flagged them down and told them he was the man they were looking for.

Handy has starred in such popular films as «"Top Gun: Maverick"» , «Logan» , «Jumanji» и «Arachnophobia» . He has also appeared in television series such as «Criminal Minds» , «"Pseudonym"» , «NCIS: Los Angeles» и «CSI: NY» . A New York City native, Handy landed his first film role in «Taps» 1981, starring a young Tom Cruise, with whom Handy reunited in the film «"Top Gun: Maverick"» .
Who is Michael Gledhill?
Gledhill lived in a Tarzana home with his mother. He was arrested Wednesday and taken to the Van Nuys jail. Bail has been set at $2 million.
