Anthony Head, star of the TV series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", has died at the age of 72.

Anthony Head, the actor best known for his role as Giles on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has died. He was 72.

«"He died peacefully from complications from pneumonia, surrounded by his family," his daughters Emily and Daisy told the BBC on Friday.

«"It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our remarkable father," they said in a statement. "It was and will always be our honor and privilege to be his daughters and to witness firsthand the impact he and his work had on so many.".

The British actor, born on 20 February 1954 in Camden Town, London, was also known for his roles in the TV series Merlin, Little Britain and Ted Lasso, as well as numerous voice-over and theatre credits.
