Director and screenwriter Leigh Whannell is no stranger to telling horror stories: about the creatures writhing in the "Distant World" in the series films "Insidious"« , and about the crazy machinations of the serial killer Jigsaw in «"Saw". But in Bloodwerk's new video for "The Other Side," he takes on a new kind of horror: the service industry.
«"I wanted to make something cinematic and story-driven, like a short film," Whannell says. Rolling Stone . "It's about how hard it is to live in a city where the arts are thriving, but you're outside of it, wanting to get there but feeling the bitterness of being rejected.".

The video features Ned Brower of Bloodwerk, former Rooney member and current Nurse Jesse in The Pitt — is subjected to a multitude of humiliations from rowdy restaurant patrons. In a Thriller-style dance sequence, Brauer dons one of the band's signature skull masks to turn the tables and perform a skit on the rude guests, fulfilling the ultimate fantasy of anyone who's ever been chastised by "Karen" or "Ken.".
«"Lee and I have been friends for a long time and always loved discussing records, punk bands, movies, and art in general," says Brauer. "When he heard our new single, I saw something spark in his head and knew it would work. He wrote a great concept, inspired by our friend's restaurant, the iconic Los Angeles establishment Genghis Cohen, and we got to work.".
Brower, along with his friend John Lowe, founded the band Bloodwerk during the filming of the popular TV series «Pitt» . "I found myself with a lot of free time on set, and something happened that really accelerated my creativity," he previously said. Rolling Stone .
