Kate Middleton showed off a number of stylish looks, sparking speculation about her upcoming travel plans.
On Tuesday, June 2, the 44-year-old Princess of Wales attended a reception to mark the 125th anniversary of the charity Cancer Research UK, along with King Charles, Queen Camilla and other members of the royal family.
The royal reception was notable not only because it marked the first time King Charles and Princess Kate appeared together at a cancer awareness event since their own diagnosis in 2024, but also because the Princess of Wales wore her first outfit. Kate wore a red silk twill midi dress with heart-shaped polka dots by Rodarte. It was the first time a member of the royal family had worn the American brand, founded in 2001 by sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy.

Princess Kate rarely wears American brands, preferring to stick to her favorite British labels or, when traveling abroad, to showcase the work of local designers.
However, the Rodarte dress marks the second time in recent weeks that Kate has worn an outfit from the American designer.
On her second day in the Italian city of Reggio Emilia in May, the princess wore a skirt by another Los Angeles designer, Jenni Kayne, marking another first for her.
Meghan Markle is also a fan of Jenny Kanye, and the 44-year-old Duchess of Sussex even wore the same pleated skirt as her sister-in-law. During her appearance on "The Circuit" with Emily Chung in 2025, Meghan wore a yellow version of the skirt, pairing it with a matching sweater.

The combination outfits from American designers have led some royal watchers to speculate that Princess Kate is hinting at an upcoming trip overseas.
Rumors are circulating that Princess Kate and her husband, 43-year-old Prince William, may visit the United States this summer. Firstly, the United States is hosting the FIFA World Cup, which could attract the Prince of Wales, a big fan of the sport, to the country.

It's also possible the Prince and Princess of Wales were invited to the United States' 250th anniversary celebrations this summer. The late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip visited Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, and New York City as part of the country's bicentennial celebrations in July 1976.
In 2023, Prince William made a solo visit to New York City to attend the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit and take a discreet jog in Central Park, but the Prince and Princess of Wales were last together in the US in 2022 for the Earthshot Prize ceremony in Boston.
