J.D. Vance dropped by the show "« The View »" to present his new book and discuss the president's immigration policies Donald Trump , as well as his administration's approach to the Jeffrey Epstein case.
However, it was his appearance that sparked heated debate online, with some claiming he wore too much makeup.
The show's hosts are known for frequently criticizing Trump, and Vance felt the pressure after getting into a tense discussion with Ana Navarro and other co-hosts.

On Tuesday, J.D. Vance made an eager appearance on ABC's "The View" to promote his new book, "Communion.".
Introducing the vice president on the show, host Whoopi Goldberg said, "Over 29 seasons, this show has welcomed thousands of guests from a wide range of perspectives, and we've been asking our next guest to join us for quite some time. So we're delighted he's accepted today.".
Vance continued to discuss the Trump administration's handling of the Epstein case, as well as its immigration policy. However, according to The Independent, the hosts disagreed with some of his views, leading to several tense moments.
Vance's makeup was ridiculed on social media.
Despite the tense atmosphere in the studio, it was Vance's appearance that seemed to capture the viewers' attention the most, with many taking to social media to mock his makeup.
«"It kind of looks like an old orange popsicle with some fancy sprinkles on it," wrote one user, X.
Someone else wrote, "Makeup artist J.D. deserves a medal. Turning the VP into a sweet potato is no easy task.".

To complicate matters further, Vance admitted during his appearance on the show that he was a "conspiracy theorist" regarding Epstein's affairs.
He seemed determined to defend Trump and some of his more controversial statements, but his co-hosts gave him little leeway.
One such moment came when he was asked to clarify what the president meant when he said he "liked inflation" amid the rising cost of living in the country.
«"He said he liked the fact that inflation would go down after the war was over," Vance said. "That's what he said.".
Goldberg retorted, "He didn't say that," at which point Behar interjected, "Are you his translator or the vice president?"«

Despite the bickering, things ended on a more amicable note: the hosts gave him a baby onesie with the show's logo. Vance and his wife, Usha, are expecting their fourth child.
Following the episode, Behar also revealed that she had advised Vance to run for president someday, adding that she did not consider him a bad person despite their different political views.
The outspoken liberal made the joke on the show's podcast, "Behind the Table," though she insisted she had no plans to support it politically, saying Democrats were more accommodating on national issues.

Behar drew a line between Vance and Trump.
The comedian went further, adding that she views Vance differently than the Trump administration in which he serves.
«"Frankly, as I told you at the beginning of this conversation, I don't think he's a bad person," she said.
«"So if he runs against, say, Gavin Newsom, it's going to be an interesting debate because they're both smart.".
