On June 4, the 44-year-old Princess of Wales visited The Christie Foundation Trust NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester to highlight the healing power of a holistic approach to treatment, alongside clinical care, for people living with cancer and those undergoing treatment.

For Princess Kate, this event was personal, as she announced in March 2024 that she was undergoing cancer treatment. In September 2024, the royal announced the completion of chemotherapy, and in January 2025, she declared remission.

Princess Kate visited Christie's Cancer Centre alone. Considered one of Europe's leading cancer centres, the centre treats over 60,000 people annually. The centre is unique in that it offers free complementary and holistic therapies, as well as a wide range of treatments to address symptoms commonly associated with cancer diagnosis and treatment, including stress, depression, fear, anxiety, and anxiety-related nausea.

In a video provided to X by Emily Ferguson of Daily Express, It was clear that Kate was beaming with happiness when she arrived, and that staff were queuing to see her inside.

The Princess of Wales began her visit to Christie's in Withington with a visit to the Oak Road Treatment Centre, where she met with staff and patients undergoing chemotherapy. The royal spoke with people receiving complementary therapies and learned how they improve their physical and emotional well-being. According to the Cleveland Clinic, complementary therapies can include massage, meditation, tai chi, reiki, music therapy, guided imagery, biofeedback, and nutritional supplements.

Princess Kate then went to an art studio to meet artist Patricia Mountford and took part in a drawing session with patients, learning how creative expression had helped them in their recovery.

Kate also plans to spend time with gardener Phil Walker to explore how a wellness garden provides patients and staff with the opportunity to pause and reflect. Prince William's wife previously said she found solace in nature during her battle with cancer, describing it as a "sanctuary" for her family during this difficult time.

The Princess will conclude her visit at the Christie Clinic's adolescent and young adult ward, where she will meet young patients, their families, and staff, and learn about the center's therapeutic, social, and recreational activities aimed at supporting young people.
