Kelly Curtis, actress and sister of Jamie Lee Curtis, has died. She was 69.

On Saturday, Jamie Lee announced her older sister's death that morning at her Idaho home, releasing a touching statement about the late actress who played in the film "The Guardian"« , the elder of two daughters of Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh.

Kelly was born on June 17, 1956, in Santa Monica. She made her screen debut as a child in in the film "Vikings"« She starred in the 1958 adventure comedy directed by Richard Fleischer, which also starred her parents. She then continued her acting studies at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute.

Kelly also starred alongside her sister Jamie Lee in the film «"Switch places »" (1983), and then played leading roles in films such as «Magic Wands» (1987), «The Devil's Daughter» (1991) and «Mixed Blessings» (1998).

On television, Kelly starred in the first season of the UPN series «Guardian» (1996–1999) as Lieutenant Carolyn Plummer, and also appeared in episodes of the series «"Equalizer"» , «Kojak» , «Star Trek: Deep Space Nine» , «Judge Amy» and others.

In addition to her acting career, Kelly earned a business degree from Skidmore College in 1978, after which she briefly worked as a stockbroker.

Kelly is survived by her husband, playwright Scott Morphy.
