Welsh actor Owain Rhys Davies has died.
Davies' brother, Rhodri Davies, confirmed the news in an Instagram post on Saturday, May 30. "It is with great sadness that my father and I announce the passing of my brother, Owain," the family said in a statement.
According to the statement, Owain, who was 44, "died suddenly, naturally and peacefully," and it also acknowledged: "This news will come as a great shock to many.".
«"There remain unanswered questions regarding the circumstances of his death," the statement said.
Owain starred in three episodes of the series «Twin Peaks: The Return» , released in 2017, in which David Lynch revisited his favorite city. In a 2017 Instagram post, he wrote that it was a "true honor" to join the "family."« Twin Peaks , and called the series "a wonderfully beautiful, thrilling adventure," sharing a photo with Lynch. He also appeared in TV series "The OA"« and voiced the frog courier in in the film "Alice Through the Looking Glass"« 2016.

In a statement, Owen's brother and father said they had received "an overwhelming number of messages" since the actor's death that were "deeply touching and testify to the impact he had on so many lives.".

I am incredibly proud that, while he was my brother, he was a brother to so many others. We know this loss will touch so many people, and we are comforted by the thought of how much he was loved.".

In the meantime, we ask for your respect and the space we need to process this terrible loss and support each other in the days ahead," the statement read. "Thank you for your kindness, your messages, and for remembering Owen.".
The Welsh National Theatre also released a tribute to Owen: "Owen was a remarkable talent whose work enriched Welsh theatre and film, and whose contribution to the performing arts will be remembered by audiences, colleagues, and friends. His passion, creativity, and dedication left an indelible mark on the cultural life of Wales.".
