Filming for the new season of the hit Netflix series wrapped in March, and Malin Akerman promises it will be even "wilder" than the first season.
«"They really went all out," Akerman, 48, told PEOPLE at the Gotham TV Awards in New York City on Monday, June 1. "We were very close to the top in the first season. But we still have potential to grow, and that's what really blew us away.".
«"We were all in shock," she adds. "When we read the scripts—they arrived right as we were filming—we were as surprised as I hope the audience will be.".

Ackerman says none of her co-stars could accurately predict what awaited their characters and the Texas town of Maple Brook. "It was impossible to guess," Ackerman says.
She adds: "There may have been a few storylines that suggested where it was all going to go, but no, there were a lot of surprises.".
Ackerman also shared her thoughts on John Stamos's role in the new season, even though she "didn't get to work with him much" during filming. "He's legendary, wonderful, and a truly remarkable person," she said. "So I'm really looking forward to seeing what he does on this show.".

«"I'm at a point in my career now where I'm looking for challenging, unusual roles. People trust me. I've been going to their houses for 30, 40 years, or whatever. I'm like, 'Okay, we'll go with him,' and then suddenly it's like, 'Oh no, oh no, this is getting weird. This is getting weird,'" he said then. "I get away with it a little bit, at least for a while—until things start popping up where you realize, 'Oh, that's Stamos.'".

The series, which premiered in July 2025, was renewed for a second season in September. The second season will also feature a shocking death, lead actress Brittany Snow confirmed in an interview. Entertainment Tonight She said she "stood on the couch" after reading the script. "Someone dies. I won't tell you who. It's crazy acting. Crazy behavior," said Snow, 40.
«"I think people will be very shocked, I think people will be outraged," she admitted. "I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing, but people should definitely watch it.".
