Martin Scorsese is joining forces with artificial intelligence company Black Forest Labs and will serve as a consultant to the research lab.
In a statement released Tuesday, the Oscar winner said he uses the company's FLUX technology to create storyboards.

«"I've been creating my own storyboards for 70 years. The challenge has always been how to convey what you see in your head to the actors and crew. Some things need to be seen and felt. I'm interested in the intersection of technology and storytelling and how it can expand the boundaries of creativity, creating deeper and richer experiences for audiences," Scorsese said. "Remember, cinema is a young art form, only about 125 years old, so we must be open to its evolution.".
He continued: «I used 3D technology with Hugo and rejuvenation technology for film "The Irishman"« . "Now, thanks to this tool, I can share my visualizations more clearly and effectively with my creative team—the production designer, set designer, and cinematographer—so they can develop their cinematic craft. I recently tested this on a scene, and the ability to visualize and immediately share storyboards proved incredibly helpful for creativity. Time is precious in pre-production, and this allowed us to move faster without sacrificing quality or craftsmanship.".
In collaboration with Black Forest Labs, the company also released a video showing Scorsese using an AI platform to assist with the storyboarding process. He said, "If you have a tool like this, you can figure things out much faster, save production time, and reduce the workload on the crew.".
As an advisor to Black Forest Labs, Scorsese has become one of the most prominent Hollywood directors to express support for artificial intelligence. The director «Avatar» James Cameron joined the board of directors of AI company Stability AI last September, while Guillermo del Toro joined the board of directors of AI company Stability AI in an interview in October. The Hollywood Reporter , When asked about his opinion on AI's penetration into the creative field, he said: "I don't think anyone needs it.".
«"It would be like spitting on God," del Toro added, when asked how he would feel if someone on his team suggested using AI to generate something from scratch.
