Sims has been married to film producer Scott Stuber since 2011.
Stuber proposed to Sims in May 2010, a year into their relationship. The following fall, in September 2011, they married in a small ceremony surrounded by family and friends.
The supermodel and the industry executive met in adulthood, when, as Sims said in the program Today In 2019, she "tried to keep up with everything" and took a break from dating.
The couple subsequently had three children: son Brooks in 2012, Scarlett in 2015, and Gray in 2017. After the birth of her third child, Sims explained to Yahoo Lifestyle that although life became "a little more difficult," she feels "lucky to have [Stuber] because we're a great team.".

In the podcast, Sims revealed that they had some difficult conversations about finances while planning their wedding.
«"We were trying to sort out all of our finances, and, you know, he was having problems even before he met me, and, you know, his people were really, really hard on me, and, frankly, it really hurt me," she said, adding, "I understand why, because when something goes wrong, you want to protect yourself, you know, for the future. You need to be aware of your financial portfolio. The good, the bad, and the ugly.".
She added: "If someone is stingy, don't marry them. If someone doesn't share your views on raising children, on money, on things in general, right? It's very important that your views align.".
