ImGist - I Am the Essence

Morgan Wallen flipped over a piano during a technical malfunction at a concert in Denver.

(NewsNation) — Some singers deal with awkward onstage situations by pausing, going backstage or, in the case of Morgan Wallen, flipping over a piano.

Wallen was in Denver on Friday for a stop on his "Still the Problem" tour when he decided to take matters into his own hands during a song due to a technical issue.

Ahead of Season 8 of Love Island USA, a contestant was eliminated for making a racist remark.

Videos of Wallen knocking over and breaking a piano while performing "Sand in My Boots" at Empower Field at Mile High have circulated online.

According to Rolling Stone, Wallen apparently couldn't hear the piano while he was playing. He finished the song a cappella.

Drawn into Morgan Wallen's Conflicts

In recent years, the singer has repeatedly found himself at the center of scandals and demonstrated questionable behavior.

In December 2024, Wallen pleaded guilty to two counts of endangering life or health for throwing a chair from the roof of a Nashville bar that narrowly missed two police officers, the Associated Press reported.

In 2021, a video emerged of Wallen using a racial slur against a friend outside his Tennessee home.

Thousands of country music fans were waiting for the singer when he abruptly canceled his performance Sunday night, April 23, 2023, at Vaught Hemingway Stadium. WTVA-TV reported that a message appeared on video screens inside the Ole Miss University football stadium announcing that the singer had lost his voice and was unable to perform, adding that ticket refunds would be issued at the point of purchase. «"Hey, deal with this motherfucker... Deal with this motherfucker," he shouted in a video obtained by TMZ.

Following the video's leak, his record labels suspended him indefinitely.

Days after the video surfaced, Wallen issued an apology, saying he apologized to his Black friends and would speak with Black community leaders.

«"In the video you saw, I'm 72 hours into a 72-hour binge, and I'm not proud of it," he said in a video posted to his social media pages.

«"Who knows if I'll be able to atone for all my mistakes, but I'll definitely try. I'm going to spend some time reclaiming control of my life... living a healthy lifestyle and taking pride in my actions," he said.

Gayle King 'surprised' by ex-husband's apology for cheating.

The singer, known for the hit "Whiskey Glasses," was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct after being kicked out of a Nashville bar owned by Kid Rock in 2020.

In March 2025, Wallen, who was scheduled to appear as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, was seen abruptly leaving the stage during the credits.

The "Ain't that Some" singer explained that he left quickly because he "just wanted to go home. I spent the whole week there.".
