Morgan Wallen responds to criticism following the abrupt cancellation of his Pittsburgh concert.
The country music star announced on Saturday (June 6) that his scheduled concert at Acrisure Stadium this evening would be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.

«"After speaking with local authorities and my team, we have no choice but to cancel tonight's show due to the inclement weather expected throughout the rest of the day and night," Wallen wrote on Instagram. "The safety of my fans and crew is our top priority.".
A few hours later, the singer behind the hit "Last Night" returned to his Instagram Stories with a video message addressing the criticism and speculation surrounding his decision. In the video, Wallen explained that his team advised him to cancel the concert that morning after local authorities warned of potentially dangerous wind conditions in the area.
«"That's what I did. That was all the information I had at the time, and I trusted my team," he said. "I understand the winds and everything else haven't reached Pittsburgh yet. I know it's impacted parts of Pennsylvania, so my sympathies go out to everyone affected.".
Wallen added, "But the truth is, I had a big stage that, under those circumstances, could have been deadly for a lot of people around me. So I did the best I could with the information I had at the time.".
The singer also commented on the "nonsense" about himself spread on the internet.
«"I've been seeing a lot of nonsense about me lately that's just not true," Wallen said, adding that he wanted to "set the record straight." He concluded, "I think my true fans know I don't usually do this, but I had to say it. Bye everyone.".
Saturday was declared a Weather Warning Day, with forecasters warning of potentially severe and even dangerous storms. According to CBS News, a weather system was expected to move through the Pittsburgh area in the evening, with the greatest threat occurring between 4:00 and 6:00 PM.
Following the event's cancellation, some skeptical fans expressed their disappointment on social media.
«"Morgan Wallen's cancellation last night is ridiculous because I walked outside after my shift at 11 PM and my car was completely dry," one X user wrote. "There was no rain in sight. This man was already heading back to Tennessee.".
KDKA radio host Marty Griffin said on X: "Acrisure Stadium officials are furious... Wallen flew out of town before the meeting even started and demanded the game be called off mid-air.".
The concert cancellation came one day after Wallen's first of two scheduled performances in Pittsburgh. During his Friday (June 5) concert at Acrisure Stadium, the country superstar was joined on stage by former WWE star and Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle during his signature entrance.
