Good Smile Company has announced a new robot anime called Beast King War God Dandivine , and it reminds me of the TV series Brave .
anime series «Braves» started in the 90s with «Brave Exkaiser» and continued for several seasons, each of which had its own plot and main robot.
The company, originally founded by Takara (now Takara Tomy), had a very strong super robot concept, creating giant robots that could transform and combine.
Another important theme is that robots tended to have their own personalities, which is partly why the series «Brave at Heart» often considered a thematic continuation «Transformers» .
Besides the series Brave , the Tomy company also created a series Eldran , which had a similar structure, but was aimed at a younger age group of primary school students.
In the 90s, the series cartoons "Brave"« It enjoyed immense popularity, spawning numerous toys and other products. However, the series has been discontinued since the 2000s.
However, when the game series was released four years ago Brave celebrated its 30th anniversary, organized various exhibitions and released a pretty cool video compilation with a new song by the group JAM Project (shown below).
This means that the new anime series Dandivine is not without its cultural context and, in fact, is a modern version of the series Brave .
So much so that this anime became the first part of a franchise called «God of the Combined Series» , which testifies to the big plans of the Good Smile Company.
In the new promotional video for Dandivine (shown below) It is also revealed that, as the series title suggests, the main robot is formed by combining with other robots to form the titular Dandivine .
The robots are being designed by the Korean company GOD BRAVE STUDIO, which not only has extensive experience collaborating with Good Smile Company, but is also clearly a fan of the series. Brave in terms of their creative heritage.
As with the old series Brave , Dandivine also plans to release a variety of products, which makes sense considering the Good Smile Company is behind it.
From Moderoid buildable models to The Gattai toys, even Takara Tomy gets involved with their T-Spark and Toyrise figures.
Although there are no details about the release date Dandivine While I'm not a big fan of it, I'm definitely impressed with what Good Smile Company is trying to do.
Series «Brave at Heart» had a huge cultural impact on Japan in the 1990s. There's no reason why something similar couldn't be done, but in a much more modern and global format. So I'll be keeping a close eye on this project.
