Season four «Legends of the Vox-Machina» takes the time to explore the different characters as individuals, showing who they are and giving them the space to pursue their own dreams, hopes, and goals rather than pursuing the greater good of the squad.
Season 4 takes its time introducing a new, more powerful force to stop and works well with the new setting, giving viewers time to get to know each member of Vox Machina. The series also introduces a new character and potential team member, Tarion Darrington, masterfully played by Wayne Brady.
Tarion Darrington, playing a wealthy, wannabe adventurer, stands out from the start and serves as the catalyst for many of the events and shenanigans at the start of Season 4. His buffoonish antics galvanize the members of Vox Machina into action and reunite them, giving the cast a new character to interact with and contribute to the plot.

In season 4 «Legends of the Vox Machine» They also delve much deeper into the world's mythology and lore, spending more time exploring how the universe works and what the show's many gods want from the characters and the world at large. The new evil that finally takes shape at the beginning of the season is unlike anything we've seen before, and in many ways, this season serves as a fresh starting point for those interested in the series but feeling a little overlooked.

The series does a fantastic job of introducing new characters, providing a brief overview of their desires, hopes, and dreams, and, most importantly, depicting their many struggles, allowing both new and returning fans to understand where the series stands and what this new struggle might mean for the characters. Even though this is a new season, with new challenges and new evils to face, the voice acting remains consistently high-quality. There's no doubt that the Critical Role team is pouring all the energy of real-time roleplaying into the series.
There's a genuine sense of camaraderie and friendship among these voice actors, and it's evident in the work you see on screen. The fact that the actors record their lines together in the same room is evident: the jokes, exchanges, and dialogue sound natural, unique, and it's incredibly funny to watch them unfold in a fully realized animated world.

In season 4 «Legends of the Vox Machina» The main cast of Critical Role returns: Laura Bailey as Vexalia, Taliesin Jaffe as Percival de Rolo, Ashley Johnson as Pike Trickfoot, Liam O'Brien as Vaxildan, Marisha Ray as Keyleth, Sam Riegel as Scanlan Shorthalt, Travis Willingham as Grog Strongjaw, and Matthew Mercer as Trinket, along with various supporting characters.
There's no doubt this is a fantastic cast, many of whom have appeared in countless video games, anime, and other projects beloved by people around the world. Even after four seasons, the cast still exudes a rare energy, and the series still feels fresh.
As mentioned, Season 4 saw the addition of Wayne Brady as the incredible Tarion Darrington, as well as new guest stars Kevin Michael Richardson, Debra Wilson, and Tom Cardy, along with the fantastic Andy Serkis, who brought a level of talent to the series rarely seen in a single television series.

Despite its crudeness, cruelty and at times absurdity, Season 4 «Legends of the Vox Machine» — is one of the finest examples of fantasy animation ever made, offering truly gripping action scenes and a deep world-building story. And let's not forget the heartbreaking moments that will bring at least a tear to even the most staunch adventurer's eye.
If you haven't watched it yet «"The Legend of the Vox Machine"» , then Season 4 is the perfect place to start, as it features some of the best action scenes, strong character moments, and comedic moments in the history of the Prime Video series. Without spoiling any major new developments in Seasons 4 and 5, I'll just say that this is a show that needs to be watched and experienced, and the best way to do that is without knowing anything about it.
