Shakira and Burna Boy will perform "Dai Dai," the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, live for the first time during the tournament's opening ceremony on June 11 at the Estadio Ciudad de Mexico (Estadio Azteca), FIFA announced Thursday evening (June 4).
The Colombian superstar and Nigerian icon will headline the show, which begins 90 minutes before the opening match. The musical portion will also feature stars such as Alejandro Fernandez, Maná, J Balvin, Belinda, Danny Ocean, Lila Downs, Los Ángeles Azules, and Tayla, who is participating in the recording of the official 2026 FIFA World Cup album.

«"The song 'Dai-Dai' will be played throughout the tournament, which will unite billions of people through the world's most beloved sport," FIFA said in a statement released jointly with Sony Music.
«"Dai Dai" is also the official song of FIFA's Global Citizenship Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million by the end of the tournament to ensure children around the world have access to quality education and sporting opportunities.
The singer, known for her hit "Hips Don't Lie," is also one of the headliners — along with global stars Madonna and BTS — at the halftime show of the FIFA World Cup Final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
This is the fourth time Shakira has performed songs at the World Cup. In Germany in 2006, she performed "Hips Don't Lie – Bamboo," a version of her mega-hit "Hips Don't Lie"; in South Africa in 2010, she set the pace with her iconic song "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)," the official song of the tournament; and in Brazil in 2014, she performed "La La La" at the closing ceremony at the Maracanã Stadium.
Mexico, which hosted the tournament's opening ceremony, will kick off a trilogy of festivities that will continue in Canada and the United States, with other participants to be announced later.
