Trump's strict rules for Barron are revealed after Melania's former aide claims they have "no relationship.".

Even before Donald Trump became President of the United States, there was much speculation about his family life, especially how he raised his children. And recently, much of this speculation has focused on Barron, the youngest of the Trump family. How did his childhood compare to that of his siblings?

A recently surfaced video from a CNN talk show gives us a pretty clear picture of the kind of parent Trump is. The footage, recorded when Barron was about 5 years old, shows the president setting rules for his son before his first day of kindergarten.

On the topic: Barron made it clear where he stands with Trump after former aide Melania Trump said they "have no relationship.".

«"I want straight A's," Trump says, to which Barron replies, "Okay." He also lists a number of other rules he'll follow when he grows up, which don't make much sense to a five-year-old. "What are you going to remember when you're older? No drugs, no alcohol, no cigarettes," Trump says. "And you know what else? No tattoos. I never want to see tattoos on you.".

Considering Barron's age, the video is a bit funny. After all, the chances of a child that age remembering all this or understanding what it means aren't that high.

Earlier this year, body language expert Judy James told The Mirror: "Trump's body language with his son Barron suggests he's a bit like the father in The Lion King, proudly introducing the boy to the world while simultaneously hinting that he's a carbon copy of his father.".

Ironically, all of this contradicts recent reports about the father-son relationship. Barron was seen accompanying his mother and father to the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, and he has made several public appearances with both parents since his father took office, but some speculate their relationship is not truly close.

Emily Weiss, a TikTok creator who is friends with Melania Trump's former assistant, recently shared stories about Barron's supposedly "sad and lonely" childhood. "He mostly plays Fortnite, goes to school, and then goes out to the grassy area and plays soccer or just sports," Weiss recalled her friend saying. "He's constantly trying to get his dad's attention.".

The president reportedly never has time to spend with his son. "He's knocking on the Oval Office window and trying to coax him outside to spend time with him. She says, 'It's really sad. He's a pretty sad kid,'" Weiss said.

Overall, she painted a picture of a "very sad, depressed, and lonely" Barron, who "never had children or other friends come to visit or play with him" and who was "essentially ignored and cared for by one or two guys who made his schedule and, I guess, essentially babysat him for four years.".

She said Melania is "the only parent who ever makes time" for Barron, and Barron "has no relationship" with Trump.
