A video posted by Trung Phan on X shows the museum's futuristic architecture, designed by Ma Yansong of MAD architects. It looks less like a traditional building and more like a massive, graceful starship that just landed in Southern California.

This large-scale video showcases the museum's fluid, organic design, with its curved white façade and expansive landscaped grounds. Eschewing sharp lines and right angles, the space was inspired by shifting clouds, tree canopies, and cinematic spaceships. The façade was constructed using over 1,500 unique molded panels made of fiberglass-reinforced polymer.
The 300,000-square-foot museum is located on 11 acres in Exposition Park and will showcase everything from comics and manga to children's book illustrations and fine art.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the opening will feature approximately 20 debut exhibitions across more than 30 galleries. In addition to the galleries, the space will also feature theaters, study studios, a library, a restaurant, and a café.

Dedicated fans of the blockbuster saga will be able to immerse themselves in the world of vehicle design, high-speed race cars, hovercraft, props, costumes, and artwork from the first six Star Wars films at the aptly titled "Star Wars in Motion" exhibition.
The exhibition will feature Luke Skywalker's speeder from Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope and the first real-life model of General Grievous's motorcycle from Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.

The museum's press release says the exhibitions "trace the evolution of human culture through narrative, from ancient sculptures of gods and goddesses to Renaissance painting, photography, comics, and contemporary cinema.".
