The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon has attracted record viewership since February thanks to a visit from the stars of the hit romantic series Off Campus, TheWrap has learned exclusively.
The Friday, May 22, episode of "The Tonight Show," featuring Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli, drew 1.7 million viewers, according to Nielsen data (including live and same-day viewing). This marked the show's highest total viewership since February 6 and the fourth-best total of the 2025-2026 television season.
In addition to Bright and Cameli, who lead the first season of the Prime Video adaptation, the May 22 episode featured guest appearances by Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal, as well as musical guest Maluma. The episode also benefited from its release, airing before Game 3 of the NBA Western Conference Finals.
Across social media, content from the episode has received more than 168 million impressions and continues to grow, cementing The Tonight Show's position as the leading late-night program on social media in terms of followers, engagement, and video views.
Based on Elle Kennedy's book series, Off Campus has been a huge success on Prime Video, with its debut season becoming the third-most-viewed series in the streaming service's history, surpassing The Summer I Turned Pretty.
Notably, the May 22 episode also marked the first day that "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" was off the air. "The Tonight Show" went off the air on May 21, the day of "The Late Show's" finale.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon returns with an all-new episode on Monday, June 1, featuring guests Tina Fey, Marlon Wayans, and Jazz Chisholm Jr., as well as a performance of "Schmigadoon!".
