June 1 (UPI) -- A Georgia woman has paid tribute to her favorite superhero by amassing the world's largest collection of Wonder Woman memorabilia: 1,581 items.
Guinness World Records announced that Cedartown resident Aleshia Wiley's collection of memorabilia, which includes comic books, Funko Pop figures, collectibles, toys, and branded merchandise, has officially won the title, numbering 1,581 items.
Wiley said she fell in love with the character after watching the Justice League animated series in the early 2000s.
«"In these cartoons, she always stood her ground, was witty, and carried herself with strength and compassion," she told Guinness World Records.
Wiley said she loves that Wonder Woman represents female empowerment.
«"Wonder Woman is a beacon of hope for girls and women everywhere and a reminder that we need to support each other more," she said. "She shows that true strength comes from within, and together we wield the power of the Amazons. Over the years, her character has evolved with new generations, but one thing has always remained constant: women can do anything, and together we are unstoppable!"»
She said the "holy grail" of her collection is a comic book signed by writer Stan Lee and Lynda Carter, who played the title character in the 1975 Wonder Woman TV series.
