EXCLUSIVE : Alexandra Andrews's novel« The Art of Lying» , recently selected by Reese Witherspoon's book club for May 2026, has been acquired by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, for development on the series.
Andrews is executive producing the thriller-drama along with Scarlett Johansson of These Pictures.

Andrews' debut novel,« Who is Maud Dixon?» , published in 2021 by Little Brown, earned her the Wall Street Journal's "Breakthrough of the Year" award that same year. Published in 28 languages, the book made several best-of-the-year lists, including those from the New York Times, NPR, and Time. Andrews is represented by CAA.
These Pictures, founded in 2017 by Johansson and her producing partners Jonathan Lea and Keenan Flynn, released the romantic comedy-drama« Fly Me to the Moon» for Apple TV+, starring Johansson and Channing Tatum. The company recently released the film «Eleanor the Great, which marks Johansson's directorial debut. As for television, Deadline exclusively reported that These Pictures is executive producing the series adaptation of« The Nanny Diaries» , which is in development at Netflix and is based on the 2007 best-selling novel and film starring Johansson.
