On Tuesday, Michael Costa ruled in favor of Ivanka Trump over what is now hers.
The Daily Show host mocked President Donald Trump's eldest daughter after she and her husband, Jared Kushner, invested in an island off the coast of Albania. In a recent interview, she spoke glowingly about the investment, even as Americans suffer from an economic crisis exacerbated by her father's actions.
Politics: Trump now says this strange addition to the White House may "never" go away.
«"It's an incredible, beautiful, 1,400-hectare private island in the middle of the Mediterranean," she enthused in a video.
Costa slowly clapped his hands and said: «Let’s give this couple a round of applause… Oh, excuse me, don’t you have money for a hectare of land?»
In recent years, the island has been undergoing development into a resort, reportedly costing the Trump family over $1 billion. This luxury project, linked to Kushner's real estate investments, is also under investigation.
«"And for those of you thinking, 'Hey, before buying a private island, shouldn't billionaires maybe take stock of the situation?'" Costa asked. "What you don't understand is that there are no rooms on the island yet. They can't lay the foundations for those rooms until they burn down all those stupid trees, okay?"„

In another segment of the interview, Ivanka Trump revealed that she and Kushner discovered the island by chance. "We were on a friend's boat and stopped for a swim," she said. "That's basically how we found it. We swam to the islands. We hiked, barefoot, all the way to the top. And we were just mesmerized.".
Costa wasn't particularly impressed by her travel notes.
Politics: Todd Blanche says Trump administration won't use 'riot slush fund'.
«"I get it, girl. I get it," he quipped. "I've been there too, only instead of the Mediterranean, I was swimming in the Hudson River. And the island I walked barefoot on was Staten Island. And instead of buying it, I stepped on a needle and got HPV. But I get it. I get it.".
He then added: «I have only one question left: can you imagine it any more removed from reality?»
The comedian seemed pleased with the news that the pair would still have to deal with abandoned bunkers and planted bombs.
«"If you like piña coladas and unexploded mines," sang Costa to the tune of the song "Escape.".
