Sydney Sweeney has launched a new production company, Honey Trap, according to Deadline.
Longtime creative collaborator Kaylee MacGregor will take over as president of production and development. The company has entered into a first-look deal with Sony Pictures. Sweeney previously starred in the surprise hit "Anyone But You" for the same studio and served as executive producer. The romantic comedy, starring Glen Powell, grossed over $210 million worldwide.
Sweeney also announced the news on Instagram, captioning the post: "Staying with @honeytrap." Meanwhile, she already has several projects in development at Sony. She will star in TriStar Pictures' remake of "Barbarella," directed by Edgar Wright. She will also produce "Registration," based on the novel by Madison Lawson.
The actress recently starred opposite Amanda Seyfried in Lionsgate's "The Housemaid." Directed by Paul Feig, the film grossed nearly $400 million worldwide. She will reprise her role in the sequel "The Housemaid's Secret" alongside Kirsten Dunst; Lionsgate plans to begin filming the sequel this fall.
Sweeney currently has several film projects in various stages of production. Oscar-winning screenwriter Eric Roth is developing a film for her at Warner Bros. Pictures.
