EXCLUSIVE: The Palestinian Film Institute (PFI) has announced the lineup of filmmakers and projects in development that will be featured at this year's annual Sheffield DocFest documentary film festival.
The Public-Private Partnership Showcase (PFI Showcase), organized in collaboration with Sheffield DocFest and supported by the British Council, will take place on June 13 at 10:00 BST in the Creative Lounge, Workstation. The following projects will be selected:

Filmmaker and educator Said Taji Farooqi, a member of the Public Health Institute (PFI), will be in Sheffield with the delegation. Farooqi said the PFI delegation's visit to Sheffield "always holds special significance because of the city's history of radical and popular mobilization for justice and liberation.".
«Sheffield is the ideal partner to develop the Palestinian film industry, to find opportunities for these outstanding filmmakers internationally and to showcase the unrivaled talent of Palestinian artists,» said Farooqi.
In addition to the projects presented by PFI, other Palestinian projects will be screened in Sheffield. Yasmine Fedda's film "« To Make Things Grow» was selected for the MeetMarket festival, and the following completed Palestinian feature films are included in the festival program:
Life support system — world premiere

American doctor — UK premiere
Director: Po Si TengCountries: USA, Palestine, Qatar, Malaysia.
Three American doctors volunteer in Gaza's overcrowded hospitals. The humanitarian catastrophe they witnessed compels them to continue their fight far beyond the hospital wards and return to Washington.
The Sheffield DocFest documentary film festival will run from 10 to 15 June.
