Season 3 «"Euphoria »" has come to an end, and with it, the story of one of the key characters of the HBO hit, as the episode saw another major death following the passing of Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi).
In this episode, Rue managed to extricate herself from a drug sting operation that landed Laurie (Martha Kelly) and her crew, as well as Alamo (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), in the custody of the Drug Enforcement Administration. Seemingly escaping a doomed fate, everything changed when she saw a news report about Fezko (the late Angus Cloud) escaping from prison.
Searching for her friend, Rue returned to the house where she grew up and found her mother, Leslie (Nika King), sitting at the table. But the scene had changed, and it became clear that this trip had been a figment of Rue's fading consciousness. It turned out that Rue had died of an overdose, cradling a figure resembling her late father's body, before Ali (Colman Domingo) discovered her on his couch after letting her stay with him.
Ali was forced to call Leslie and break the news because he was testing the drugs Roo had taken to determine what they were. It turned out the Percocet pills Alamo had given her were laced with fentanyl. An enraged Ali vented his emotions at a group meeting, speaking frankly about his loss and admitting he had started drinking after Roo's death.

Her loss tested his faith in religion, and he confessed to the group that he was tired of losing people, tired of spending his life in rooms, diners, and homes trying to help children, only to see them not given a second chance.
Meanwhile, Alamo was enjoying the fruits of his wealth, amassed after the drug bust that destroyed Laurie's crew, forgetting about Roo, whom he had deliberately poisoned. He met with Maddie (Alexa Demie) to exchange the funds she had collected, confessing to a revelation and remarking that he had lost his way.
He proposed to Maddie that she marry him so she could help him achieve the American dream, but that was impossible because Ali arrived at the Silver Slipper and locked the door, asking for the manager. His intentions were clear: he locked the door with a bicycle lock, and as soon as the first shot rang out (presumably killing Marshawn Lynch), Ali called for Alamo, leading to a deadly shootout.
Ultimately, Ali survived; with Alamo's gun jammed, he shot the drug lord, leaving him to suffer a bloody fate in Roo's name. A moment later, Bishop (Darrell Britt-Gibson) fired several bullets, implying he had deliberately framed Alamo. He bid Ali farewell, telling him, "May God have mercy," before driving Maddie and Kitty (Anna Van Patten) home.
Besides Roo, Alamo, and G, the episode proved deadly for Laurie, who committed suicide by hanging herself while trying to escape the authorities who had surrounded her house earlier in the episode.
The finale concluded with Ali visiting the house where Rue began her journey in Season 3; he declared Rue his daughter and, after dining with the religious family, told them she was in a better place and that they had portrayed their home as a peaceful place. The episode ended with Ali experiencing a bit of that peace himself, saying a prayer and imagining Rue at the other end of the table.
