Zendaya has two upcoming book adaptations that have caused quite a stir among fans. She will return as the Fremen warrior Chani in «Dune: Part Three» and will play the goddess Athena in «Christopher Nolan's "Odyssey". Recently the star of the series «"Euphoria"» Demonstrated her love for the stories that inspired her new roles by posing with copies of the books at an independent bookstore. Literary enthusiasts quickly noticed one important detail.
The Emmy Award-winning actress visited Rakestraw Books, where she chatted with the staff and received excellent reading recommendations. In the Danville-based bookstore's post below, you can see Zendaya posing with some of the books that, as it turns out, inspired the titles of her upcoming 2026 films. Check out the fun photo of the bibliophile below:
How lucky that Zendaya found «Dune» и «Odyssey» in an independent bookstore just before the film adaptations came out? Moreover, I really like her funny (and meaningful) pose in the photo. I don't want to speak for the star herself, but I can imagine how pleasant this moment was for her. Especially considering that she was simultaneously filming «Dune: Part 3» и «Odyssey» and did a great job.

Yes, the former Disney Channel star is holding the translation in his hands. «Odyssey» Emily Wilson, who, incidentally, is considered one of the best translations for beginning readers of Homer's classic poem. Compared to previous romanticized versions, Wilson's translation of the ancient Greek epic is widely praised for its clarity and directness. It's no wonder literature fans are raving about it in the comments!

The (clear) advice Zendaya says she would give her teenage self.
Interestingly, one of the main sources of inspiration for Christopher Nolan's film «"Odyssey"» is translated by Emily Wilson. Thus, the changes Nolan made to his upcoming fantasy action film could make the plot more accessible to a wider audience.
The trailers for Nolan's latest historical epic not only show characters speaking modern English but also present a hyperbolic, reimagined version of the ancient world. I hope this will bring a fresh perspective to the story, though I'm certainly confident Nolan will also remain true to his core themes and events.
I can imagine that fans of the book will talk a lot about it. «Odyssey» after its release, and the same could happen after the premiere of the third Dune film. Personally, I'm already very excited about the upcoming films, and after seeing Zendaya's photo (along with Watson's translation of the book), my enthusiasm only increased.
Don't miss Zendaya's performance as the Goddess of Wisdom when film "The Odyssey"« will hit theaters and IMAX on July 17. Also, watch the star reprise her role as Chani in in the film "Dune: Part Three"« , which will be released in cinemas on December 18.
