Verma wrote, directed and starred in the Hindi-language Indian series «Sapne vs. Everyone» , the second season of which was released in March. The series, created by Verma for the Indian streaming service and online channel The Viral Fever, debuted on YouTube and later appeared on Prime Video.

The psychological drama tells the story of two ambitious men, Paramvir Singh Cheema and Verma, who struggle to make their way in cutthroat worlds to achieve their dreams in acting and real estate, respectively. Verma's successful performance earned him the first and second spots on IMDb's list of popular Indian celebrities for two consecutive weeks.

After the release of the second season in May, the series «Sapne vs. Everyone» was ranked number 171 on IMDb's list of the 250 greatest TV shows.

«"This award means a lot to me because it's the people who decide," Verma said. "In a time when some awards are influenced by lobbying or someone's advocacy, that's only possible when you create something that people truly deem worthy. It's similar to the feeling when 'Sapne vs. All' gets a certain rating on IMDb. I'm very proud of that.".

«"I also recently reached the top spot on IMDb's list of popular Indian celebrities," he added. "For me, someone so far removed from the industry, that was amazing. I know I'm getting that from the show—people saw it, saw my work, and wanted to find me on IMDb.".

«"It's hard to believe you can get first place because when I look at that list and see the people on it, it's incredible. Things like that give you confidence that if you just keep going and do everything right, everything will work out.".
