On Friday, May 29, Joy Behar, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, and Ana Navarro gathered to discuss a recent trending topic: recognition. Rosie O'Donnell that she secretly had a facelift, a decision she called "a betrayal of feminism [and] aging.".
The 64-year-old comedian and former talk show host was the moderator The View program from 2006 to 2007, and then returned briefly for one season in 2014.
«"It just amazes me that someone as strong, witty, and interesting as Rosie would equate plastic surgery with anti-feminism," Hostin, 57, said in an interview. TV Insider .
«"If you look in the mirror and feel miserable day after day and you can't get over it, then it's all up to you," added Haynes, 48.
«"I respect it when celebrities open up about what they've done," shared Griffin, 36. "It means a lot to me personally, because I've struggled with body image issues myself. You scroll through Instagram and think, 'Why does everyone look so much better?... Why does she look thinner?' When people are honest about having a little help, I think it helps a lot of people.".

«"I used to be very critical of facelifts. Not just for the sake of it—it was for moral reasons. I considered myself the leader of all women who would never have a facelift," she explained. "I thought it was a betrayal. A betrayal of feminism. A betrayal of aging. A betrayal of our team of women around the world.".

«"It wasn't wrinkles—it was gravity," she wrote. "I looked in the mirror and thought: this isn't aging, this is… purposeful melting.".

«"Not a single person. Not a friend, not a stranger, not even those who owe me compliments," she joked. "My teenage daughter didn't say a word. Nothing. I went through a real existential feminist crisis, had plastic surgery on my face and neck, and the result... zero.".
