Alexa Demie has denied rumors that she plans to retire from acting.
In an interview with the publication The Hollywood Reporter , published on Sunday (May 31), the 35-year-old star TV series "Euphoria"« asked about rumors that she was planning to retire from Hollywood after a clip from a 2020 podcast episode was taken out of context and circulated online.
«"Maybe we should just get over it?" she joked in an interview with the magazine, before attributing the misunderstanding to earlier disappointments in her career and feelings of insecurity about her place in the industry.

«"I read that, and it really struck me—and I kept having that feeling," she said. "I was tired of going into those rooms, and it was during that time when you're young and every few months you're like, 'I'm giving up, I'm giving up.' But knowing myself, I would never give up. My energy is more like, 'No, I'm going to show you I can do this.'".
Creator TV series "Euphoria"« Sam Levinson said THR "I think there's a misconception about Alex, and I've always rejected the concept of, 'Oh, Alexa should have the same abilities as Sydney or whoever,' because that's a very simplistic way of looking at things.".
He added: "I think Alexa does whatever she wants, and if she doesn't have something, it's because she doesn't want it. I think she's completely satisfied with her life.".
Demi also rejected interpretations of her fame and ambition from others, specifically mentioning that friends had sent her content online that discussed her alleged lack of recognition.
«"Have you ever considered that I don't want this?" she says. "People really do take away your choice. Where did my choice go? I like my life the way it is, and I wouldn't change a thing.".
In another excerpt from the interview, she added: «I have goals and desires, but I prefer to keep them secret.».
The final episode of the third season «"Euphoria »" — presumably the series finale — will air Sunday (May 31) on HBO.
