The new track was first performed during Goulding's performance on the main stage at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Sunderland last month (May 23), after which she was scheduled to perform on the television programme Later… with Jools Holland , which will air on June 7 on BBC Two.
Album I Know Too Much became Goulding's first full-length album since Higher Than Heaven release in 2023, which debuted at number one on the Official UK Albums Chart, tying her with Adele for the most number-one albums on the UK chart, according to the Official Charts Company.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, the 39-year-old singer remains one of the most consistent contemporary British pop artists on the Billboard Hot 100. She's charted numerous times throughout her career, including the No. 3 hit "Love Me Like You Do" and the 2011 No. 2 hit "Lights," and has collaborated with Swae Lee, Juice WRLD, Diplo, Calvin Harris, and many others.
The release of the new album coincides with Goulding's viral popularity online. Her breakout track "Starry Eyed" topped TikTok's Trending Audio chart earlier this year, resurfacing on the platform thanks to trends encompassing nostalgic fan-made video montages and travel clips, which in turn sparked renewed interest in her previous work on streaming platforms.
In addition to reaching number one in the UK charts, the album Higher Than Heaven spawned one of Goulding's biggest hits, her collaboration with Calvin Harris on "Miracle," the duo's third collaboration to date. The trance hit earned the singer her fourth UK number one single and a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Dance Recording, and was also included in the list of the 30 Best Dance Songs of 2023 by Billboard .
