Taylor Swift may have new music coming out this week, but on Tuesday night (June 2), she took to her Instagram Story to hype up another singer's brand new project.
Late Tuesday night, Swift shared a post on Instagram from Paul McCartney promoting his recently released album. The Boys of Dungeon Lane , which was released on Friday. Swift also added her own message (complete with a bicep emoji): "I'm always inspired by this forever exceptional artist.".

This isn't the first time the pop stars have crossed paths. Besides performing "Shake It Off" together at the legendary 40th anniversary party, Saturday Night Live In 2015, they also interviewed each other about songwriting for the magazine Rolling Stone in 2020, in which McCartney revealed he'd planned to invite Swift on stage during his COVID-19-canceled Glastonbury performance. "Were you going to invite me?" Swift asks. "I was hoping you would," he replies. "I was going to invite you." The Beatles legend not only intended to extend his hand, but also planned to play "Shake It Off" with her again. "I know, it's in C major!" McCartney joked.
Following this interview, Swift released her second album of 2020, Evermore , which became a continuation of the album Folklore , December 11, 2020, and the Wings frontman released McCartney III next week. Dungeon Lane — McCartney's first solo album since then, while Swift has released four re-recorded albums and three original compositions in the years since.
McCartney also appeared as a VIP guest at one of Swift's Eras Tour concerts at London's Wembley Stadium in 2024 and was captured on video taken by fans dancing to the hit The Tortured Poets Department «"But Daddy I Love Him.".
This week, on Friday, Swift will release the song "I Knew It, I Knew You" from the soundtrack to the cartoon «Toy Story 5» .
