Dayna Katan has spoken out about her sexual orientation after her Pride Month post went viral.

Dayna, a contestant on the popular reality show's 8th season, left the show after one season. Dayna currently hosts a podcast with her friend and former VPR colleague, Katie Maloney. On the podcast "Disrespectfully," Dayna spoke about her social media post.
«"So, if you haven't heard, your algorithm isn't exactly supportive, but I came out as a lesbian earlier this month," Dayna explained. "I've been talking about it privately for a while now. We've certainly talked about it a lot," Dayna told Katie.
She continued, "I came out while filming Vanderpump Rules in 2019, during Pride, and even though I came out then, I still didn't feel completely comfortable and was still figuring it out..." Dayna then explained that she began using the term "queer" openly when "bisexuality just didn't feel right for me.".
The former "Pump Rules" reality star stated, "I actually knew I was gay, but I was afraid to come out publicly, and I think there were a lot of reasons for that. And I didn't think I'd feel any different when it came out, but I do feel different, in a positive way." Dayna added that sharing her truth makes her "feel so good and confident.".
She also ended the segment on a positive note. "If you're still not comfortable being yourself and want to be yourself," Dayna said, "you are being seen, and it will happen when it's meant to happen.".
